Drum Hill is located about 4 miles north of Derby. We are in a central position in England, close to the M1, A38 and the A50. The site, which covers about 47 acres, is made up of open fields and mixed woodland, all of which are bordered by dry stone walls and hedges and is at the top of a wooded hillside, giving excellent views over the city of Derby to the south and the countryside of Derbyshire to the north.

Drum Hill can be used by Scout and Guide groups, youth groups, and for educational purposes.

The site has 3 accommodation buildings and a large indoor activity barn.

Operating under the governance of Norfolk Scouts, all our staff are members of the Scouting movement, fully experienced in dealing with camps, programmes and activities. Fanwood is a 10 acre site composed of areas of traditional grassland and woodland. The site is owned by Spen Valley District Scouts and is located in such a place as to give peace and tranquillity to its residents whilst being located within 30 minutes travel from Leeds, Bradford, and Wakefield. A little further away are the attractions of Manchester, York and Sheffield.

The site offers safe, comfortable and secure camping for up to 400 campers.

The campsite holds its traditional values of having well stocked woodpiles and great natural assets but also has all the latest "Mod-cons" one would expect from a modern facility - such as set campfire places, showers, toilets, a campfire circle, convenient water points and friendly helpful staff. At the heart of the site is the Pinder Chapel, A facility open to ALL groups and parties for a time of quiet reflection, worship or as a meeting point.

Over recent years the campsite has been transformed into a active and bustling activity centre, offering groups instructor lead sessions on a multitude of exciting activities.

Felden Lodge Conference and Training Centre is home to The Boys' Brigade National United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland Headquarters. The house is also utilised by health & local authorities, churches, charities, schools, local community groups, youth organisations and private groups. Set in 32 acres of beautiful grounds, the excellent road and rail links close by ensures that our venue is the right choice for you, whether visiting the area for business or pleasure.

Felden Lodge features 27 ensuite bedrooms, a newly refurbished relaxing lounge area and conservatory style dining room leading onto a decking area overlooking our grounds. Forest Camp Activity Centre


This large wooded camp can accommodate over 1000 in a range of sites from large open fields to small clearings. The toilet blocks have hot water and showers, and are equipped with special needs facilities.

There are two buildings that can be hired, each sleeps 24 residents in a combination of room sizes. The 'George Begg' building is recently refurbished and boasts central heating and an excellently equipped stainless steel kitchen with commercial appliances, large fridge and freezer. The 'Lakeview' building has heating throughout, the kitchen has a selection of appliances and is better suited to more reserved catering demands. 'Lakeview' will undergo a massive refurbishment in late 2012. Both kitchens have crockery and cutlery provided for 50 people.

Activities available include kayaking, rafting, climbing tower, traversing wall, archery, pioneering, orienteering, a small adventure play area (up to 10yrs) and a larger 'Low Ropes' course for those from 10yrs until 110 yrs, pedal powered go-karting and a nature trail.

Foundry Adventure Centre is a dedicated outdoor base with 2 independent self- catering units with 21 and 31 beds, or a single unit for up to 52. Additional camping is available on site.

The Foundry Adventure Centre offers an ideal base for group visits to the Peak District. Located in the village of Great Hucklow, we are close to the Hope Valley and the best of the Peak's walking, climbing, caving and mountain biking. We are also within easy reach of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, the show caves of Castleton, Bakewell & the Ladybower dams. Hinckley District Scouts’ Campsite at Fox Coverts has provided camping opportunities for young people since 1956. We are located between the villages of Kirkby Mallory and Newbold Verdon In Leicestershire. Covering nearly 16 acres of woodland there are campsite areas to suit both group camps and patrol camps. Fox Coverts provides a number of activities suitable for all age groups and there are additional off-site activities located nearby.

Frylands Wood focuses on the outdoor elements of the Scout Programme, managed in a way which encourages and enables as many young people as possible to enjoy and experience the benefits of outdoor Scouting. This includes non-Scouting groups such as schools, Churches and other youth groups. We also offer children's birthday parties or corporate away-days.

The site provides a number of facilities: 60 acres of woodland providing a safe environment for outdoor activities or traditional camping with the option to cook on ground fires; a number of open activity fields; 2 accommodation buildings to provide an indoor base for outdoor activity; adventurous activity provided by trained volunteer staff; a Warden and volunteer crew to support users.

Glenbrook Outdoor Activity Centre is located in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District between the villages of Hope and Hathersage. It is an ideal base for Brownie, Guide or Senior Section holidays and camps.

Glenbrook is primarily used by members of Girlguiding but extends to include Scouting and mid-week bookings from schools and those doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award. All youth groups are welcome and corporate bookings are considered mid week and out of season.

The centre offers a range of self-catering residential indoor accommodation for parties ranging in size from 1 to 80 people. Rooms are comfortable and centrally heated. There are beds for 31 in Glenbrook House, 35 in Derwent, 4 in Chatsworth Flat and 10 in Peveril. All beds are bunk beds. (except Chatsworth).

Outside there are 3 camping fields, accommodating up to 200 campers in five designated camping areas. There is a shower/toilet block and access to fridges and freezers. There is a solid wet-weather shelter on one of the sites.

There is also a campfire circle, well stocked woodpile, souvenir shop and a drying room.

We welcome day / evening visitors to our site, dependent upon availability.

The Peter Watson Scout Camp is located on the western edge of the Peak District National Park, nestled in the upper reaches of the Dane Valley, on the borders of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. The campsite is located close to both Buxton and Leek, but because of the nature of the Peak District countryside it appears to be in a world of its own!

Holwell Pastures is a very open field camp site located to the north of Melton Mowbray in the Leicestershire countryside. The campsite is owned and managed by Melton Mowbray & District Scout Council and provides an ideal opportunity to enjoy back to basics camping and the outdoors. Holwell Pastures is situated in a beautiful and quiet rural location but less than 3 miles from Melton Mowbray town centre. The 3½ acre site is divided into 2 fields enabling smaller groups to share if necessary whilst buildings include an indoor meeting / eating room with a fully equipped kitchen, a classroom, shower and toilet blocks and a separate disabled toilet and shower facility. The site is open from mid March to early November and is used extensively by Scout, Church, D of E, Youth and College groups. The site is closed in the winter months.

Set in the North Downs Hopehill is an ideal base for hiking. Our woods offer safe surroundings for a variety of environmental projects. We have a multitude of

wildlife & wild flowers: we have badger setts and fox holes, rabbits and many types of birds, plus we know where the door mice live! In spring we have Bluebells and if you look carefully, hidden away, Early Purple Orchids!

We do not try to rival the large activity centres but offer a growing range of

traditional and modern facilities. Owned by Gravesham District Scout Association, Hopehill is open to Youth Groups, Schools, Clubs & Societies year-round. Run by

volunteers, friendly wardens are on site at weekends and through the week in the main camping season.

Suitably qualified volunteers also provide the activities and users are asked to respect their commitment. Visitors should be responsible for their own events and are expected to leave the premises in the condition they found it.

Hunter's Greave Activity Centre is situated in the Kirkstall Valley just 4 miles from the centre of Leeds.

The sheltered camping area includes firebases, woodpile, incinerator, campfire circle, standpipe water, flush toilets, washbasins and a car park.

For those requiring indoor accommodation there is a site building with a carpeted floor, tables and chairs, a separate kitchen and sink, cold running water, calor gas cooking, electric water boiler, fridge and storage cupboards. All rooms and toilet have electric lighting and 13 amp sockets.

In the stores are pioneering poles, fire grids, rubber tyres, heavy duty rope and picnic tables all available at no extra cost.

The site is suitable for Patrol camps, Troop camps, Cub camps, Group camps, District events, Training Courses and day activities. It is adjacent to the Leeds-Liverpool canal, making it an ideal base for water activities (Class C Water).

Johns’ Lee Wood Campsite covers 33 acres of woodland within the National Forest Area. There are 24 clearings in the woodland for camping pitches & these vary in size from patrol to group camp. There are 3 cabins one which has 30 bunk beds ( The Alan Guttering Cabin), one which has 10 bunk beds and room in the hall for up to 30 more camp beds (The Harry Walker Cabin) and The Collier Hut which sleeps 12 on bunk beds and 2 in a leaders room off the kitchen. There are also 2 log shelters for outside sleeping which can sleep 6 in each. There is also a large toilet block with showers. Onsite activities include Archery, Orienteering, Climbing, Air Rifle Shooting, Caving Experience and a Rubber Band Alley.
